we would not, in good faith, be true, chic new yorkers if we didn't make mention of the yankee's world series win last night!
[Photo via Eric Faison] whether you are the yankees’ biggest fan, or you think ARod is a schmuck that gets paid way too much… if you are a new yorker you will excuse the celebratory crowds for the next couple of days and let us enjoy this win. while the crowds were a hot mess with crazy yankee fans burning philly cheese steaks (true story) and wrecking havoc on our city streets for the nypd to clean up, where did the players themselves go to celebrate? 1Oak was where the after party went down. Who was there? continue reading here

our fashion correspondent, liliana vazquez of cheap chica did a fierce job discovering louboutins for less!
i spent last weekend in new york city with my sweet husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the one thing we both love to do while we’re in the city is shop…yes, I am a lucky girl!
While we were at saks I tired on the louboutin feticha (above in black) and fell in love, unfortunately my husband did not agree…he said they looked too “smushy”! I think he was referring to the short toe box which IMO is fantastic b/c it makes your feet look tiny so if you’ve got a big foot, there shoes will give the illusion of a very small foot!
anyway, I left with dreams of all the outfits they would compliment so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw these fawson shoes at Aldo. They come in black leather, grey suede and tan suede and retail for $90 but I suspect they’ll be on sale in a few weeks so hold off… if you can resist!
nonetheless, these shoes are such a great “inspired by” version of the feticha and the perfect pump for work or play!!

high street retailers partnering with high fashion designers is nothing new—but when one teams up with a famous author, well, you just don’t see that every day. enter mango—the spanish shop where we love to score sweet deals—with a new t-shirt line emblazoned with quotes by paul coelho. he’s author of more than 20 books, including the alchemist, which harvey weinstein is soon turning into a movie. the tees, with graphics that resemble book spines, feature inspirational bon mots like “everyone has a treasure that is waiting just for them,” and “when you want something, the whole universe conspires to help you realize your desire.” at $29.90, a portion of the proceeds go to coelho’s non-profit in his native brazil.

even though coco rocha and alexa chung might be like, triple-booked for the evening, giuseppe zanotti will be djing at his own store and la perla is giving away $50 lace thongs with purchase, it's these following shops that really have it going on during fashion's night out.
in case you haven't already heard, anna wintour, for some reason or another, will be kicking off the evening from the macy's in queens. this, for obvious reasons, totally does not make our top ten list. now on with the good stuff.
anna sui for target private shopping event 54 crosby st. sept. 9, 7–10 p.m. ms. anna sui and, though we can't name names, we hear a gossip girl or two. first dibs on the collection!

it's kirna's 10th anniversary, so they'll be celebrating double-time by bringing in narciso rodriguez, jack mccollough and lazaro hernandez of proenza schouler, thakoon panichgul, jason wu, and peter som to debut their exclusive items for kirna. want to snap up a wu sketch or a proenza schouler tote bag? this is the place to do it. 96 greene street.
with anna at macy's, it's only proper that hamish bowles be at juicy, right? he'll be at their fifth avenue flagship to read from the works of noel coward as shoppers lounge in a "gentleman’s club, reminiscent of founder gela nash-taylor’s eccentric english manor (featured in vogue’s september issue)." 650 fifth avenue.
actually hosting two large events at different stores, chanel will cater to both the rich and the poor. at 139 spring street, they'll debut the jade nail polish with free mini-manicures and a dj set by alexa chung. meanwhile at 15 east 57th street, for the first time ever, chanel will have a create-your-own-handbag studio. alice + olivia
right alongside the fashion week tents in bryant park, the alice + olivia boutique will become a photo studio, with auditions to be a model in the alice + olivia presentation the following week. hopefuls won't be left to their own devices either; they'll get pro hairstyling, makeup and wardrobe styling before stepping in front of the camera. here's something for the resume. 80 west 40th street
in the spirit of chinatown, oc will take their celebration to the streets, with special-edition items sold out of the backs of vintage automobiles (example: a thai truck sporting band of outsiders gear). in addition, you'll able to meet and greet with the designers behind rodarte, band of outsiders, proenza schoulder, fendi, and of course alexander wang. munch on food from neighborhood restaurants and enjoy dj sets by "friends" of opening ceremony. 35 howard street.
as expected, barneys will be killing it during fashion's night out, hosting such famous faces as the mary kate & ashley olsen bartending, isabel toledo, alexander wang for runway lessons, juan carlos obando teaching salsa and more. oh yea, and they'll be teaching knitting and hosting a fashion green market curated by vogue editor tonne goodman. there's too much to list here; click above for all the details. 660 madison avenue.
foley + corinna
burn the velvet rope! foley + corinna invite you to cross the line and mix it up. deejay, drinks, dress-up, and dancing. dance while you shop; shop while you dance. photos will be taken while your booty’s shakin’. shimmerin’ and quakin’ while dana foley + anna corinna will be makin’ you up! brought to you by stylecaster!

bumble and bumble.
kick off your night with a glass of champagne and a free styling session at bumble and bumble. rising stylists will be re-creating styles from the fall runway by request, so anything from a glam oscar de la renta pompadour to zac posen’s teased french twist is fair game. but are they capable of pulling off dior’s wild, couture-worthy frizz?
