love your body We continue our self adoration project by embarking on a 30 day challenge of IntenSati classes at Equinox with Patricia Moreno. And for back up purposes, when the brutal NYC winter weather makes it too painful to venture out, we love our Piloxing DVD. Of course, even when working out, we try to treat ourselves right. The ultimate motivator in working out, aside from an upcoming pilgrimage to Tulum, is the most spectacular gym bag of all time, the Nike Monika Gym Bag. love your health OK, we always tout health and nutrition, but we have to admit when we go hedonistic too. And we did it big time, falling off the health wagon and heeding the siren call of the Shake Shack, and we also got our liquor-mojo back on during fashion week, hitting cocktails hard at after parties all across the city. So, in penance, we are up for another round of BluePrint Cleansing and a visit or two or three to SanaVita (why oh why don't they have a 30 day program???). No, the fact that it is Orange has nothing to do with our devotion. It is simply our liqueur de jour and the one we have been featuring at our house soirees.

We hereby declare that 2009 is the year of love! But not that selfless free loving of the 1960s; we are taking about a year of self loving!! No not that kind of self loving (what would the nuns think!), but a year for you to enhance, indulge, adore and splurge on that special someone…YOU!!! Lets be honest, with the great depression of 2009 looming, no one else is going to spend on you baby, so you might as well do right by yourself.

SWOOSH: We Really HEART Nike

In my never ending quest for the freshest and hottest, I, Brenda, am your emissary of adventure. Recently, I pushed myself to my athletic limit during a 3-day sojourn to Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Yes ladies, I have a very tough job.

I have always considered myself athletic -- by that I mean purchasing sneakers and cute workout outfits every 6 weeks so that I can look tip top for my Wii virtual fitness partners! But now after visiting the Mecca of all things competitive, my inner Latina Warrior goddess has been reborn.

Although athletes in Oregon and urban Latina fashionistas are the not the most obvious of bedfellows, the synergies became crystal clear to me as I toured their facilities, met with management, and even got to rub elbows with Olympic greats-Andrea Duran. We share a tireless pursuit of excellence and an unending desire to always step it up a notch. Cynicism aside (hard to do but breath deeply for a minute)…Nike inspired me!

Nike is a corporation that lives and breathes that same vision that we here at Casa Naranja all share. WHAT A TRIP! Stay tuned for the fresh preview of the PHATTEST sneaker/collection I was privy to.
