While it's the beach life in Brazil and the finer things in Argentina that seem to get all the attention, allow us to direct your attention just a little west — to Chile. It's got wines to rival Argentina's, and while it may not have Brazilian bathing beauties, you'll see no shortage of natural beauty.

We've chosen three destinations you won't want to miss. First stop: Valparaiso. A glimpse into the soul of Chile, this old-fashioned port still feels lost in the 1930s.
